I’m having cramps, and I can’t think that to be something good. Has anyone else had crampiness through IVF medications? I understand the bloating and all, but this feels closer to a period. I realized too many things are still not in our hands, even when most things fall into place, it doesn’t mean that the last part will. I can’t hold my breath, because even if I’m able to get through the medications and retrieval part fine, it doesn’t mean it will be my baby forever. My dear friend is going through that right now and it so tears my heart apart. since this pain is overwhelming, I’m just going to not hold my breath. I don’t want to feel naive about IVF the way I did about fertility treatments. I was so naive when I first started them, thinking that I would get pregnant right away…HA! And I don’t want to keep thinking that this will be my lucky cycle. I don’t want to be naive nomatter how much my doctor tells me otherwise. Here we go again…

I hear you. It’s almost like you have to convince yourself that it isn’t going to work so that you shield yourself from the pain of a failed cycle. Hang in there and hoping for the best for you.

That’s exactly it. And I think that goes for majority of us doing any form of fertility treatment..

As the friend who is not yet getting my take-home baby, I can’t assure you that this will be the month. However, I can assure you that you want to hope. Even today in my pain and sadness, I’m glad that I gave Sweet Pea my all. I’m glad I pulled for THIS month to work and THIS embryo to implant. It didn’t, and I’m heartbroken. However, I will step out in faith for as long as I financially can and try again.

Needless to say, I pray that your tears and frustration are turned to joy this cycle.

Unfortunately, I think cramps, constipation, nausea, etc. are all rather normal on these crazy fertility meds. I wouldn’t worry about that. Considering how many eggs both of us make on our (not mature), imagine what your poor ovaries feel like as they are making that many eggs (maturely)! Ow! I’m actually swelling again and gaining weight the past two days, as my body protests the treatment it has received recently. Apparently, when I start “bleeding” and go back on birth control, my doctor said that my ovaries, etc. should return to their normal size and “heal.” Be as easy as you can on your body right now, so that you don’t cause any ovarian twisting, etc. Even though it may be hard to limit your activity, it is worth it in the long run. I also recommend stocking up on Gatorade, salty foods, and high protein foods. You want to eat/drink as much of those as you can to fight OHSS.

You’re right, it just hurts to think of an outcome like that. I know that nothing can be guaranteed, but we go through so much to have our little nugget. My heart is with you, and I pray that the next time around your sweet pea will stay for a much, much longer time.
Thanks for the tips…you’re right I’m already feeling the pressure of my ovaries and they hurt! I will stock up on all of it. Thank you sweetheart ❤
